Arkansas

Arkansas is known for its lakes, rivers, and hot springs, extreme weather and frequent storms, rice and poultry production, its rich folk music tradition, and the only active diamond mine in the United States.

Many cities and towns in Arkansas provide curbside recycling programs that allow you to place your recyclables in a designated bin that is picked up on a regular basis.

If your area does not offer curbside recycling, you can still recycle by taking your recyclables to a recycling center. The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality maintains a database of recycling centers throughout the state, so you can easily find one near you.

When recycling in Arkansas, it’s important to know what can and cannot be recycled. Common items that can be recycled include paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans. However, items such as plastic bags, styrofoam, and certain types of glass cannot be recycled in most areas.
